Pastures Green Support and Wellbeing Services (PGS) CIC were once again celebrating after receiving £20,000 in National Lottery funding in October 2024 to run a 2 year project.
This new funding will allow us to purchase sewing machines, materials and other craft items. It will also enable us to continue providing support and activities to help reduce loneliness and isolation, promote healthy lifestyle and improve mental and physical wellbeing.
This funding will support adults from diverse communities, with focus on those of African Caribbean heritage. People will be encouraged to: 1) Incorporate and adopt regular physical exercise into daily routines. 2) Increase mobility, balance, coordination, flexibility, movement and agility skills. 3) Increase interpersonal social skills and feel more confident interacting and communicating with new people. 4) Leave the solitude of their home environment to meet new people.
The National Lottery Community Fund (Awards for All) is the largest funder of community activity in the UK. National Lottery players raise over £30 million a week for good causes across the UK. The National Lottery Community Fund distributes a share of this to projects to support people and communities to prosper and thrive.
“A heartfelt thanks to National Lottery players, this grant means that we can continue to provide essential support to adults aged 50 and over, including those living with Dementia and other mental health issues, also their carers. We provide a range of activities and support to help reduce loneliness and isolation and improve mental and physical wellbeing. This will make a big difference to people’s lives.” Director
During the pandemic, in 2020 alone, The National Lottery Community Fund distributed almost £1 billion to charities and community organisations across the UK. To find out more visit
